In the Garage
Welcome to our Blog where you can find out what we have been up to lately.

We have been working on this for about a year now, so we are very excited to be planning our entry into the 2009 Transsyberia Rally. Today we had the news we have been waiting for, "the car is o.k. for entry transsyberia. You are welcome".<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
So Taxi will be able to compete in the 2009 event in a category for vehicles over 20 years old.
Our biggest challenge now is getting Tazi to the start line. If you have any clever ideas please let us know.
Well it is time to get back into the shop and get Tazi ready for his next big race!

Hi everyone,
There is a great new automotive magazine called "Trucks Plus" which has CK on the cover and a couple of articles on our trucks inside, including a centerfold image of CK having a bath. You should be able to find them in automotive parts places like Lordco. Otherwise we are busy looking for out next race, we hope to have news on that front coming soon.

It has been awhile since we have written anything here. Life after racing turned out to be pretty busy and we have been busy with our day jobs. We have also started celebrating Land Rovers 60th Birthday! Both Ck and Tazi have already been getting spoilt with presents like a new starter, injector wiring harness, tail lights for CK and there are rumors about that Tazi will be getting a new windscreen. CK has also had his rear tire carrier modified so it can no longer attempt to amputate my finger; I should have figured that one out ages ago.

Since we don’t have a lot of new racing stories to tell, I have uploaded a bunch of clips of previous adventures with CK on the support vehicle / video page.
The Roverlanders are having their annual Founders Day Show in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Cloverdale BC Canada. CK and I will be there so if you are interested in seeing lots of really cool Land Rovers come on out!
I hope everyone had a good Christmas / New Years and we hope to see you on the trails.

Hi All,
I'm currently sitting in Ottawa in the midst of a snowstorm trying to catch a flight. Not quite as nice of weather as Cabo. Sigh...
For those so inclined there are a couple of blogs with some pictures, and even a bit of us in a video (last 30 secs or so) on the Race-Dezert site. Links are below...

I have been trying to get the videos to run for a while now. It looks like last nights complete reload has sorted them out. I hope that they are working for you as well.

Sorry for the slow uploading of the race story but I am busy trying to settle in to home and work.

Hi, I am figuring out this website design stuff on the fly. I think that the race report stuff is too long for the blog so I have posted it on the "Baja 1000" page under " Our Race Report".

Well I know that some of you have been betting on whether both Landys would make it back into <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Canada. Those of you who were on the yes side won!<?xml:namespace prefix = o />
It wasn't without excitement though. Leaving Tijuana I got pulled over by a city cop on a motorcycle who thought that I had not signaled when I made a turn. I wasn't happy with him and he ended up insisting that I follow him to the police station. The roads are clogged with traffic trying to enter the US so he drives between the cars and the sidewalk turns right to enter the traffic circle. I think that he went straight through the circle but I am not sure. I am sure that the first right is taking me to the border crossing. So I turn right, put on my baseball cap and sunglasses (if it works for superman it should work for me) and try and blend in while driving CK and towing Tazi. We end up spending about 3 hours creeping towards the border, and my amigo on his motor bike never does show up again. We were relieved to be in the USA, and are happy to be back in Canada now.
